Bahucharaji Temple

Millions of devotees visit Sri Bahuchara Mata Temple at Becharaji. It is also known as the Shakti Peetha Mandir. The word gift is highly valued by women who want peace and prosperity at home.

Bahuchara Mata, also known as the patron saint for the transvestite or eunuch society, is also called Bahuchara Mata. Many stories are associated with the temple, an ancient pilgrimage. After recovering from an illness, Manaji Gaikwad Baroda built today's temple in 1783.

The courtyard was surrounded by four gates and housed the temple. Two temples dedicated to Goddess Bahuchara were also built in the courtyard.

Adhyasthan (original), is located near the Varakhadi Tree, where Mataji first appeared. Madhyasthan is the second. The complex contains small temples that are dedicated to Nilakantha Mahadev and Sri Ganesh.

The Varakhadi tree, where Mataji first appeared, and the gates with aurora-style lights are the main attractions. Purnima, Chaitra, and Ashwin Navratri are the main festivals here. Dussehra, Diwali, and Chaitra are also celebrated.

History

The mythology says that the monster Dandasura, who was believed to have surrounded the polygamist, conquered the three worlds Death, Song, and Devalokam.

To save the gods from Dandasur, all went to Paramba Devi. The goddess was incarnated as Paramba Devi, a little girl who received a boon from Shiva.

It is believed that the goddess appeared first as a small girl at the Varakhadi Tree. With a multi-skinned trident, he killed Dandasura the demon king and brought peace to the gods of the world.

It is believed that the hand and feet of Bahu-Maa Devi Sati were found here at the Bahucharaji Temple. This Shakti Peetha is also famous. Self-confidence is the main vehicle for the Goddess of Gifts.

In the temple is worshipped a child machine made from crystal and covered with gold. Bahuchara Mata wears a sword in her upper left hand, a text in the upper left, and an Abhaya handprint to the lower right. She also has a trident on her lower left.

As polygamous, the goddess of fertility, pilgrims have made this location their home to fulfill vows and receive blessings. It was believed that any child born to a woman who is not able to speak clearly will be able to learn to speak in a matter of days if she brings her new child here and gives her a chick on her behalf.

Architecture

The temple complex was divided into three sections.

  • The original shrine was a Varakhadi tree with small leaves, which is where the Bahuchara Mata first appeared.
  • The second, smaller one is located next to the Varakhadi Tree. A carved plaque depicts the deity.
  • The third structure is very close to the original shrine. Today, the main temple was constructed in 1783 by the Gaikwad ruler. The temple was also built and rebuilt by Saint Kapildev, Kalari King Tejpal.

Beautiful wall paintings and stone sculptures decorated the Bahucharaji Temple Complex. The reservoir is located at the south gate of this temple, which is believed to be where the miracle took place.
